Percy Jackson's Greek Gods

As you should know by now, Rick Riordan is writing a book called Percy's Jackson's Greek Gods.  This book is going to be Percy narrating stories about the Greek gods.  So we pretty much get Persassy  sassing the gods for the whole book.  This book is going to be amazing!

The book is due to release the day after Percy's birthday (August 19, 2014).

In case you haven't already seen it, here is the official US cover:

House of Hades Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where to start?  There is so much to say.

Oh! I know.  Let's start with the dedication.  ('To my wonderful readers:  Sorry about the last cliff-hanger.  Well, no, not really. HAHAHAHA. But seriously, I love you guys')  *rolls eyes*  Was that supposed to help?

Moving along.  I have to say that I really kind of enjoyed the Tartarus scenes.  I don't like Tartarus because  "Percabeth!!!!!!!!!  My babies!!!!!!!!!!  I missed you two SO much!!!!!!!!!!!".   I enjoyed Tartarus because it was very interesting to learn about.  We go the entire series reading about Tartarus, so finally reading about it was very fascinating.  Tartarus is so creepy and scary that it is really cool.  I also really loved some of the previous monsters Uncle Rick brought back.  I did love reading about Percy and Annabeth surviving.  But, like I said, it is not because "Percabeth!!!!!!!!!  My babies!!!!!!!!!".  I was happy to read about Percy and Annabeth coping with everything that was thrown at them.  As soon as they land in Tartarus they instantly start formulating a plan for survival.  That is why Percy and Annabeth are my favorite characters.  They are amazingly awesome, wonderful, strong people. They made the best out of their situation.  Here is a photo of Perabeth in tartarus:

"Percy, I need a break." panted Annabeth. Percy looked around them, checking the area for monsters. "Okay, but only for a bit. We don't want to get ambushed." They sat down with their backs touching the others, because that whats they've always done, watched each others back.
  Not sure who gets credit.

Shifting gears to the Argo II.  I knew that the rest of the seven relied on Percy and Annabeth, but how much was a little surprising.  I am not saying Piper, Hazel, Frank, and Jason are weak and need Percy and Annabeth for everything; I just think Percy and Annabeth being the oldest, most experienced demi-gods naturally take the lead, so Percabeth being in Tartarus really gave the others a chance to shine.

Take Frank for example, he really stepped up in this book.  He gained like 1,000+ points in my book.  While Frank never made my top 5 favorite characters, I never disliked him.

What to talk about next?  I know!  I bet y'all have been waiting for this.  I know you want to discuss that and I am not going to keep you waiting, but I really want to know how badly you like this?  How much do you want to talk about this?  I bet you squealed like a true fangirl/fanboy, but at the same time maybe you fangirls started to cry knowing that you could no longer have him?  I bet you were very happy for him though.  :) No, I am not talking about Nico.  Since, y'all have been so patient while I trolled y'all, I will now let you know to what I am referring.  It can be summed up with one ship name.  You know it, Caleo!!!!!!!!!!  I am SO a shipper of Caleo.  I love this ship.  Second best ship after Percabeth!  I just love the whole Leo and Calypso on Ogygia.  I've got to say that I love that Leo promised to come back to Ogygia for her despite the "Oath to keep with final breath" problem.  It is just SO uggg....  Caleo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hey, you know what, just for fun here is a Caleo drawing:

Calypso and Leo. When I first read when they meet. I silent whispered: I ship it...

I don't know who to give credit to though.  :(

Okay,  now what all you Team Nico fans have been waiting for, Nico time.  After MoA, I was expecting Nico to step up a bit, but he seemed really removed from everyone most of the time.  I thought Percy telling Nico that he's in charge now would cause Nico to step up.  That being said, Nico had his moments, but overall, I was expecting him to "put his big boy pants on", so I was slightly upset that he was more of a passerby in parts.  Now to the Nico discussion y'all really want to have.  If you have been reading this post, I hope you have already read HoH and I am not giving you any spoilers (if you haven't read HoH, don't complain bout spoilers).  The fact that Nico is gay doesn't really affect me at all. I don't really care. It doesn't affect my view about Nico.  My only problem is that it seemed to come from nowhere.  Maybe I missed a whole bunch of clues between book 3 and HoO.  Guess I have to go back and re-read 3 through HoH now.  Here is a drawing of Nico:
krkrandcat: The Lonely King Nico di Angelo. I feel so much for this kid. I’m not done with The House of Hades yet, but man, he needs some love. That book made me cry the other day. Please stop picking on my favorite character.
   Again don't know the artist.

This is going to be all for now.  I will have a post with a photo of my singed HoH book that I ordered from Blue Willow Book Shop in Austin, TX and my Percy Jackson dedicated book shelf.  I will also have a post with a few quotes and some of my favorite moments from HoH, so stay tuned!

Please comment below about your views on HoH and  any direct questions you want to ask me.  Lastly, if you went to a tour stop, please tell me about it below; I didn't get to go this year.  :(

  Thanks so much!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 30)

This is it guys.  The last day of the 30 Day Percy Jackson Challenge.  I want to take the time to thank those who have commented. So, commenters, thank you all from the depths of Tartarus [Yes, I went there :P].  I love to read what my readers have to say.  Again, a huge thank you!

  Okay here we go:

           Day #30

Q:  Favorite Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus book?

A:  MoA (Mark of Athena). Yes, I know what happened at the end, but I love it with the exception of that.  Now that Percabeth is safe, I am able to look past the falling into Tartarus.

What is your favorite PJatO/HoO book?  I want to know.  Let me know in a comment!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 29)

            Day #29

Q:  Least Favorite Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus Book?

A: This one is easy for me.  SoM (Sea of Monsters).  Even though the famous guinea pig Percy and Tyson emerge from SoM, the book lacks the same excitement present in the other books.

What is your least favorite PJatO/HoO book?  Tell me in a comment below!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challeng (Day 28)

         Day #28

Q:  Given the Opportunity, Would You Accept Zeus' Gift of Godhood?

A:  No, I probably would not.  Really it just depends on what I would be giving up.

If Zeus offered you immorality, would you give it up?  Let me know in a comment!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 27)

          Day #27

Q:  You Are Leading a Quest.  Pick One Demi-god from Camp Half-Blood and One from Camp Jupiter.  But You Can't Pick Percy or Jason.

A:  Wow, this one is kind of  hard.  After a lot of thought, I am going to pick Annabeth and Hazel.  Why those two?  Annabeth is like the next best thing to Percy.  She would be VERY useful in a battle and to the overall quest.  (Plus, Annabeth is my next favorite character after Percy.) Hazel's ability to know where underground tunnels are could come handy.  Also, Hazel being able to control the Mist is a BIG plus.  We could use that on every mortal that saw a killing a monster (I am assuming they can actually see through the Mist).

Your turn.  I want you to pick a demi-god from camp Half-Blood and a demi-god from Camp Jupiter to be part of your quest.  Remember, Percy and Jason are out of the picture.  Hey, you know what, while you're here and have your demi-gods in mind, let me know in a comment below!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 26)

            Day #26:

                       Q:  Most Emotional Moment (HoO)?

A:  Oh, that is super easy. Either Percabeth's fall or when Octavian killed Percy's pillow pet.  Both scenes where very heartbreaking.

What scene in HoO is most emotional for you?  I want to know in a comment below.

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 25)

        Day #25

                  Q:  Most Memorable Moment (HoO)

A:  Well, there is a plethora from which to choose.  Actually, I am going to be honest; I can't pick a single one.  I have been trying to pick one for the last hour, but I can't.  I have so many that I really can't pick.

Do you have a most memorable moment from HoO?  Let me know in a comment below!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 24)

          Day #24

Q:  Most Disappointing Omission from the Movie (Lightning Thief)?

A:  Well, there are SO many things that they left out of the LT movie.  Off topic a bit,  I want y'all to know that I completely understand poetic license, in fact, I am okay with it, just not to the extent of this movies. Back to the topic-at-hand, I am going to go with the fight between Clarisse and Percy after Capture the Flag where Percy is claimed.  That scene was a huge moment. It was the big change if his life.  Now, yes, I know some of you may argue that when Percy first found out he was a half-blood may have been biggest change, but Percy was probably getting used to that by then.  I mean, if he wasn't a child of one of the big 3, his life wouldn't be this way.  People wouldn't have been cautious of him.  He wouldn't have had to worry about the prophecy.  He would have lead a normal for a demi-god life.  I think it is a shame that his big moment was left out.

Let me know what moment you were upset was left out in the Lightning Thief movie.

A:  -.-  Do I need to say it?  Here, say it with me.  P-E-R-C-A-B-E-T-H.  What does that spell?  PERCABETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :)  I LOVE Percabeth.  Do I need to explain why?  No, good.  Percabeth=Perfection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I <3 Percabeth

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 20)

          Day #20

                     Q:  Favorite Special Ability?

A:  Well, of course Percy has amazing water abilities, but I am either going to have to say Frank or Annabeth.  In Frank's case, it would be so fun to be able to turn into any sort of animal whenever you want.  I could be like, "I want to be a dragon today," and bam I can be a dragon for the rest of the day.  That being said, I am not to sure how useful that would be.
Now, Annabeth.  You may be confused that I included her, but she does, in a way, have "special powers".   Let's think about this.  What other demigod do you know that can completely terrify anyone with just one look?   Given, Clarisse can do that, but in a different way.
Annabeth also has this really cool gift. When she is in a desperate situation, she can engage her opponent in a conversation until she comes up with a plan.  I think that is pretty darn cool!

What is your favorite ability?  Don't be shy!  I want to know in a comment below!

Thank you all for coming back and reading!

           Day #19

Q:  What Would Ambrosia/Nectar Taste Like to You?

A:  Wow, tough question.  What would it taste like to me?  I am going to go with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.  I love chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.  Hey, you know what you be amazing?  BLUE chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.  Man, that needs to be invented!!!!

What would your ambrosia/nectar taste like? Let me know.  Leave a comment!

P.S.  I just thought of two questions.  One: What does Annabeth's Ambrosia/Nectar taste like.  Two: Do the Romans have Ambrosia/Nectar?  If not, what do they have?

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 18)

         Day #18

                    Q:  Most Emotional Moment (PJO{First Series})

A:  Easy, when Percabeth kissed in Last Olympian.  I can't even begin to explain how happy I was.  I was a Percabeth shipper from the very first time Annabeth appeared.  (Not the 'you drool when you sleep'  comment, when she told Chiron 'he's the one' while Percy was semi-conscious on the Big House porch.)  I was SO excited that they were finally together.

Let mw know what moment in PJO was your most emotional moment.

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 17)

        Day #17

                   Q:  Most Memorable Moment (PJO{First series})?

A:  So, so, so, SO many to chose from.  The Percabeth shipper in me is going to show, but here are my top four.  The first is when Percabeth kissed in BotL (Battle of the Labyrinth, page 203).
"She glared at me like she was about to punch me. Then she did something that surprised  me more. She kissed me. 'Be careful, Seaweed Brain.' Then she put on her hat and vanished. I probably would've sat there for the rest of the day staring at the lava and trying to remember what my name was, but the sea demons jarred me back to reality."

Second is when they kissed at the end of  LO (Last Olympian).

Third is when Percy turned into a guinea pig in SoM (Sea of Monster).

The last one is the dance at Westover Hall in TC (Titan's Curse).

Like I said, my Percabeth shipper really comes through.

I am going to try to pick one.  Here I go....ummm....err.....I am going to pick Percy being turned into a guinea pig in SoM.  I just love to picture Percy as a guinea pig.  Lol.  It was so funny.

What is your most memorable moment in PJO?  I wan to know in a comment below!

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge (Day 14)

         Day #14:

Q:  Favorite Location From a Quest?

A:  Wow.  This is really hard.  There are so many from which to choose.  Of course there is Ogygia, Westover Hall, Alaska, Lotus Hotel and Casino; you get the idea.  My favorite location changes day to day, but right now I would have to go with the cave where Grover, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson found Pan in BotL (Battle of the Labyrinth).  The way Rick descried it made it sound SO pretty and made me want to see it in person.  But, like I said, if you ask me tomorrow you would probably get a different answer.

For those of you who have commented telling me your thoughts, thank you SO much.  I love to read your comments and see what you have to say.  If you haven't left any comments, don't be shy -   join the party and leave a comment below!

30 Day Percy Jackson Challenge (Day 13)

        Day #13

                   Q:  Favorite Prophecy?

                   A:  Mars' Prophecy:
                            "Go to Alaska.
                            Find Thanatos and free him.
Come back by sundown on June twenty-fourth or die."

That was pretty good, but more in a funny 'Mars can't give a prophecy' way.  My favorite prophecy in terms of most-interesting-fall-out-sort-of-way would be Mark of Athena's prophecy:

"Wisdom’s daughter walks alone,
The Mark of Athena burns through Rome.
Twins snuff out the angel's breath,
Who holds the key to endless death.
Giants' bane stands gold and pale,
Won through pain from a woven jail."

30 Day Percy Jackson Challenge!!! (Day 1)

Those of you who follow me on pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/AnnabethChase51/percy-jackson/) may already know that I do this 30 Day Percy Jackson Challenge.   If you don't follow me on pinterest or you do and don't know what I am talking about, here is the chart thingy.
I ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!! I am going to start tomorrow (Oct. 8) doing this on my blog so go to http://mountolympusweekly.blogspot.com/ to see my responses.
So how is this going to work? Well, every day I am going to have a short post about that day's question.  Some questions I may go into detail explaining my opinion; some may just be short, sweet, simple, and to the point.

  Let's start!!

  Day #1:

Q: Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter?

A:  This one is easy, Camp Half-Blood (CHB)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just so we have it on the record, I am not saying I don't like Camp Jupiter.  Camp Jupiter has many great features; for instance, New Roman comes to mind, but I just don't think I would do well there.  I like the freer, more relaxed feel of CHB as apposed to the real strict ways of Camp Jupiter.

Please comment below with you answer. I would love to read it!

You may be wondering about House of Hades.  I have read it all, but I am going to wait just a bit to have a post on it.  I'd say about a week from now.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment below!

Rick Riordan Interview, Deleted Scene from Last Olympian and Perordering Singed Book

Hey everyone, lots to talk about today.  Let's just jump right in.  Rick Riordan video interview with Publisher Weekly.  The interview is not really about HoH.  Here  is the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNYQkdXK5cs.

All I am going to say about the interview is Percabeth is in a difficult situation, yeah I'd say so.

Now you may remember, he mentioned a deleted scene from Last Olympian, well he just uploaded the scene on his blog, so here is the link for that one:  http://rickriordan.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-deleted-scene-from-last-olympian.html

I like this scene. I think it shows how much Percy has grown up since the first book.  Percy was able to forgive Nancy (Grover on the other hand still had some hard feelings from all the PB&J sandwich bits thrown on him.), but I understand why this had to be cut from the book.  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Last but not least, his tour stops.  First, I want to know if anyone gets to go to one.  I can't go this year, but I am hopefully going to go to one next year.  For those of you who don't get to go to a signing, but you still really want that signed HoH; well, you're in luck.  All you have to do is click this link:  http://www.bluewillowbookshop.com/event/rick-riordan-0.  (You will have to scroll down a little), and buy it.

You have until Oct. 9 to order.  I don't know when it will arrive at your door.  This is my first year doing this.  If you have ever order a signed book this way and know about when it will arrive, please let me know in the comments below

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment below!

  Oh, one more thing:

           TWO days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(You had to know that was coming) :) :) :) :)

Three New Character Arts

Photo: Percabeth.

So over the last few days there have been a lot of character arts coming out.  These are in order of what came out first to the most recent.  First is Percabeth.

Well,  let's just say, the movie might be better than this.

First of the character reveals! Photo from Rick Riordan.

    Eros (Greek)/Cupid (Roman)

Eros in Aphrodite's son.  Some stories say his father is Ares.  Eros is the actual god of Love, not Aphrodite,  she is the goddess of looks.

Nyx Goddess of NIght!!! the heroes of olympus!
And this is Nyx, the goddess of Night.

It might be me, but I am starting to think that all the gods art work is better than the character (Percy, Annabeth, hazel, Leo, ect.) art work.

Rick Riordan Reading from House of Hades

Yes, I know it has been a while; so, hi, moving on to sadness.

It is with joy and a broken heart that I am writing today.  The reason I am joyful and the reason I have broken "feels" is because of the link below.  Go ahead and click the link.  I am not going to say anything about what it is.  I am warning you though, when you first see this you will be happy, but trust me...it's not happy.

Okay, so hopefully you have watched the video. If you have, you know that it was Rick Riordan reading an exert from HoH and you also will know that he isn't reading a happy, joyful Leo being Leo exert.  No, he is reading part of the most heart wrenching part of the whole book.  (The book is not out yet, so obviously I don't really know that.  I am just guessing.)

At first when I saw this, I was SOOOOO excited.  "Yeah, House of Hades!!!!!!!!!!!!", but after watching it, I think I would prefer NOT to have had this come out.

....i cant even.... All I thought about was Percabeth. Now I am hyper-ventilating and rocking. Oh god. Oh gods. This hurts
First, just seeing an actual physical HoH book makes me freak out because even though I knew that they were/are being printed, this is someone actually holding one and reading out of it.  How am I supposed to wait 20 more days to get HoH???????  How??????

And, did you notice that he was reading halfway through the book? Great! So now I know what to expect for the other parts of the Tartarus scene.  Pain and a lot of sobbing.

I may seem to be overreacting a bit, but if you follow me on pinterest and saw this pin:

Well, that may have explained why I am so frazzled right now.  All I thought about was Percy watching Annabeth die.  I just cant handle it.

August 18th

As you all should know, today is a very, VERY important day.  Probably the most important day for the PJO fandom.  Today, of course, is Percy's birthday!  This is the day when his mom would make him all sorts of blue food.

Now everyone always says "Happy Birthday" to Percy, but let's not forget this is a double special day. Today is also the Percabeth anniversary.  After the battle was over and all the campers were back at CHB, Annabeth and Tyson went to make Percy a 'blue brick with extra blue cement'.  Annabeth found Percy sitting on a bench in the dining pavilion.  She told him happy birthday and they shared the 'cupcake'.  After sitting for a few minutes, Percy started trying to explain why he declined the gods offer to make him a god.  Annabeth was, of course, the reason, but he was unsuccessful in getting his point across.  He started bluntly telling Annabeth that when he was bathing in the River Styx, he had to think of something that would hold him to the world.  The only thing that worked was Annabeth.

Annabeth laughed at Percy's attempt to be romantic and said, "Do you have something to say to me Seaweed Brain?"  Percy's response was, "You're laughing at me?"  Annabeth smiled and replied, "No, I am not."  Percy, getting very frustrated at this point, complained, "You're not making this easy for me."  Annabeth smiled, put her arms around Percy's neck and said, "I am never going to make things easy, Seaweed Brain."  Annabeth kissed Percy and Clarisse, standing behind them, growled "It's about time."  Percy and Annabeth turned to see a crowd coming towards them.  The next thing they knew they were on the crowd's shoulders, just close enough to hold hands, being taken towards the canoe lake. In the next second, the crowd dumped Percy and Annabeth into the lake, but Percy got the last laugh when he willed all the air in the lake to form a huge air bubble where he and Annabeth had enjoyed "the best underwater kiss ever."  And that is when, even though we all knew that in the end Percabeth would be a thing, they really became a couple.

So, on this day in PJO history, we have not one, but two big things to celebrate:

Happy Birthday, Percy!
and
Happy Anniversary, Percabeth!

Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment below.

HoO First Chapter

The first chapter of House of Hades was released online today.

There aren't any real differences between this one and the one that came with the Son of Sobek e-book, but if you haven't read it yet, here it is.

I will have a review up in a couple of days.

Sea of Monsters Movie

I would just like to start by asking what in the Hades was that movie?  I mean really.  I am to the point of buying another copy of the first two books and sending them to the directors.  They don't know what the crap they are doing.  I am not sure if this movie was much better than the first.   I hate to say it, but even though my hopes weren't big at all they were completely crushed. I knew that in the end I would be disappointed;  I just didn't know how by how much.

Now that I am done with my "what in Tartarus were they thinking" bit, I will move on to what was wrong in a more direct approach.

The problems with the movie starts at the first scene as I said.  If you haven't seen the movie, the first scene starts with young Thalia, Annabeth, Luke, and Grover running to camp being chased by monsters.  So what was wrong with that scene.  Well for starters they were not the right ages.  Luke and Thalia were supposted to be older than Annabeth, but, of course, that doesn't happen.  The next problem isn't really the scene as it is what was said.  Percy is explaining the story and he says that 4 demigods were trying to make it to camp.  Well, this is Percy talking and he should know that Grover is a protector, not a demigod.  The appropriate line would have said three demigods.

Moving along.  What is up with Clarisse?  She seemed kind of nice.

And what about all the technology?  I am not upset that Clarisse has a phone.  That doesn't bother me at all.  I mean a few demigods do have phones, not many, but a few do.  What bothers me is that Annabeth has a tablet for crying out loud.  And that Dionysus was okay with her using it.  Like I said, a few demigods do have phones, but they hardly ever use them because that attract monsters!

Speaking of Mr. D, is it just me or was he helpful?  It is not just me?  Good, it is not just me.  Oh, normally I would let this go, but since they completely ruined the movie why not nit pick it?  It is Peter Johnson not Perry Johnson!

Oh, and three names: Chris, Silena, and Ethan.  They are not part of the books yet!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and the Nectar....the Nectar.  If the book characters were to drink that much Nectar, they would burn from the inside out.  But apparently in the movie it is perfectly fine!  To quote the movie, 'If you haven't had, you haven't lived"......

I don't know about you, but I really wanted to see Percy as a guinea pig.  Heck, I was looking forward to it, but apparently Circe decided that she wanted to build an amusement park on top of  Polyphemus' island.  Same thing.  Right?  Oh, and Grover WAS in a sort of wedding dress, but they never explained it in the movie.  I bet that was a bit confusing to people who haven't read the books.

Well, speaking of Grover,  he is stuck in Polyphemus's cave for most of the movie, right?  Nope, he is actually part of the movie for a bit...

And the Mist?  What was the explanation?  Some people might say that it was easier, but here is a just as easy correct way to explain it.  "It is a substance that makes the abnormal look normal.  It can't be explained how it works.  It just does."  How simple was that?

I don't think that they captured Tyson's personality right.  I have said before and I will say it again, Tyson is like a giant, lovable 4 year old.  (If you are new to my blog and want to read my post on Tyson click this link: http://mountolympusweekly.blogspot.com/2012/12/tyson.html.)

Speaking of personalities, was it me or did Annabeth seem completely confused 99.999999% of the time?  For the daughter of Athena,  she sure didn't know that much.  Also Percy wasn't as funny as he should have been.  He was not the Percy from the books.

They also messed up Clarisse's ship.  She is suppose to have ghosts not zombies.  How hard is that?  Apparently really hard.

Don't even get me started on the whole Kronus thing.  It was all 100,000,000,000,000,000,000% wrong.  Not a bit of it was right.  And what is it with him eating Luke?  Yeah, sure... He is supposed to be somewhat grateful to Luke.  I am really not going to say all that was wrong with that scene.  We would be here forever.  Just one last thing about the Kronus scene.  Percy's sword is not the "cursed blade", and Poseidon never killed Kronus with that sword.

Where is Tantalus?  He gives Clarisse the quest not Mr. D.  And Chiron was supposed to be kicked out of camp because he was a suspect for killed Thailia's tree.  Talking about Chiron and the tree, there is not a cure for the poison on the tree.

Let's not forget the manticore.  Actually let's forget him. He is not supposed be there anyway.

I could keep going all day on what was wrong with this movie, but I am going to save some for a later date.  The last thing I want to say is about The Great Prophecy.  Besides the fact that they messed up how and when he heard the prophecy, the last I checked the prophecy said,  "Reach 16 against all odds" not "Reach 20 against all odds".  What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I know I just scratched the surface of what was wrong with the movie, but  I would be here the rest of the day going over it all.  And I will be back when the movie comes out on DVD to go over more things that were wrong that I forgot about.

Thanks for reading and please tell me in the comments below your take on the movie and what really frustrated you.

New York Trip!

So, a while back I went to NYC and here are some pictures that I took while there.  Of course, I am starting with the Mount Olympus (Empire State Building).  It only seems right.

They aren't the greatest shots , but they still are pictures of the Empire State Building.

Now, I am going to show the pictures from the Empire State Building.  I went up at night so keep that in mind.

I have to say, it was great walking around on top of the Empire State Building.  It was a surreal moment, and even though I didn't look like I was freaking out that much, I was going completely crazy on the inside.  All I keep thinking was, "This is Percy's city.  I am in his city.  I am standing right under Mount Olympus.".  I also started thinking about the giants walking through the city and war raging on, on the streets down below.  It was wonderful.  Here is a pic of me at the top of the Empire State Building:

Like I said,  it doesn't look like I am freaking out, but I was going insane on the inside.

Here are just two Empire State Building things that they had inside the Empire State Building.

Next up is Central Park.  I don't have a lot of pictures of Central Park because I didn't really go walking trough.

And here is the Lincoln Tunnel.  It was going to be unguarded because of a lack of People, but the huntresses showed up and saved the day.

And here is the Brooklyn Bridge where Travis Stoll and half of the Hermes cabin were stationed.

You may have noticed that I don't have a PJO shirt on.  I do have one, but didn't know that we were going to be going to New York, so I didn't pack it.  :(  I really wanted to wear  it, but oh well.

Some of you may be familiar with a place called Dylan's Candy Store.  It is the candy store that Conner and Travis  Stoll wanted  to "shop" from when the city was asleep.  Well, I don't have any pictures, but I did go there.  It was a really cool candy store.

If you have been to or live in New York, let me know in a comment below!
