Day #24
Q: Most Disappointing Omission from the Movie (Lightning Thief)?
A: Well, there are SO many things that they left out of the LT movie. Off topic a bit, I want y'all to know that I completely understand poetic license, in fact, I am okay with it, just not to the extent of this movies. Back to the topic-at-hand, I am going to go with the fight between Clarisse and Percy after Capture the Flag where Percy is claimed. That scene was a huge moment. It was the big change if his life. Now, yes, I know some of you may argue that when Percy first found out he was a half-blood may have been biggest change, but Percy was probably getting used to that by then. I mean, if he wasn't a child of one of the big 3, his life wouldn't be this way. People wouldn't have been cautious of him. He wouldn't have had to worry about the prophecy. He would have lead a normal for a demi-god life. I think it is a shame that his big moment was left out.
Let me know what moment you were upset was left out in the Lightning Thief movie.

Um, hm, I don't know, the plot, maybe? But if I had to pick a single disappointment I would say Percy's first days at Camp Half-Blood. Like, staying in the Hermes cabin and being claimed and flushing Clarisse out when she tried to give him a swirley. And the capture the flag scene was rather disappointing too.
ReplyDeleteYea, I totally agree with you, that scene is HUGE and they just cut it out! I makes it seem like he isn't as big as a deal than he is.... That was confusing, you know what I mean. Anyway, the scene was just a disappointment. Plus when he just walks right into his cabin and doesn't even go to the Hermes cabin, AND they didn't have Clarrise in the first movie! I am so disappointed with the movieS. I could rage all day about the movies but I'm not gonna. :)

The fact that they made hades the bad guy. I'm sorry but EVERY time somebody makes Hades the bad guy I want to punch something. =3= The god of death is NOT evil people. In the book it was Ares who was the badguy and hades was (understandably) upset.
ReplyDeleteAnd that battle with Ares and Percy didn't gt included. I watched the movie before the book and after watching the movie my friend had to battle me to get me to read the book.
I'm so disapointed the movies failed i would have adored to see the other demigods. I would have LOVED to see apollo and artimis.
