Luke

Recently I have been thinking a lot about Luke.  Before I get into my rant,  I want to ask a question.  How may of you fans hate Luke?  You are probably thinking, "Oh my gods!  She is going to say that she LOVES Luke.  She loves everyone in the books!"  Well...yes and no regarding Luke .  I don't LOVE Luke, but I don't have anything against him.  I don't really have anyone in the books (besides monsters and such) that I really hate.  Now back to Luke...

I will admit that pre (and, for a while, post) book five, I did have problems with Luke.  In fact,  I pretty much hated him.  But after a while,  I started to realize that all the things that Luke did that made me hate him, he in a way made up for them in the battle. I can't really explain how. He just did.

Another thing I have realized, is that you can tell at first Luke is all for the destruction of the gods because they mistreated him and other blah blah blah...  But, as time goes on, you start realizing  that Luke isn't 100% sure any more if he is on the "right side".  By the time that he was going to "become" Cronus, he seemed to know, for the most part, that he was on the wrong side; I don't think he really knew 1000,000,000% that he was on the "bad guy side" until the end.

Now that being said, I think he did know he was on the on the wrong side, but he didn't know how to get out of it, so his only option was to go along with the plan and hope that any opportunity appeared that would let him set everything straight.

The only thing Luke did that I can NEVER forgive him for is going back on his promise to Thalia and Annabeth.  You might think that that is more forgivable than everything else; but to me, if it was just Thalia, who was 12 years-old at the time, it would be easier to forgive.  It is the fact that he broke the promise to little 7 year-old Annabeth who looked up to Luke that hurts.

Well, that's all for now.  Please comment below!

October 8th

I know it has taken me a while to report this, but the HoH is coming out on Oct. 8th!!!!!

Now I haven't reported this until now because I couldn't find anything on the official website to support this.  Not only is HoH coming out on Oct. 8th, but the Titans Curse  graphic novel  is also set to be released on the same day.

I don't know why, but if you look on rickriordan.com (official Rick Riordan website) and go to the House of Hades page  (this is the link to that exact page:  http://rickriordan.com/my-books/percy-jackson/heroes-of-olympus/The-House-of-Hades.aspx ) it only says that the book will be coming out in October in general.  Now if you go to Rick Riordan's blog, he has a post that the very last line says that the Titans Curse, the graphic novel, and House of Hades will both be released on Oct. 8th. (Link to that post:  http://rickriordan.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-titans-curse-graphic-novel.html)

Letter

I will be sending a letter to Rick Riordan and I wanted to know of any questions you would want me to ask.  Below I have a list of the questions I will be asking.

1.  When is Annabeth's birthday?

2.  What are Percy and Annabeth's middle names?

3.  What are the reasons you pick orange for Camp Half-Blood's shirts and purple for Camp Jupiter's?

4.  Does Clarisse even go to camp anymore?

5.  Has Percy's mom heard any news about her son?

6.  Are there reasons that you pick New York to be the location of Camp Half-Blood and San Francisco location of  Camp Jupiter?

7.  Why do you not consider the ending of your books cliffhangers?  I mean, sure, the characters aren't left in too much danger (most of the time), but it feels all the same to the fans.

8.  How do you pronounce Thalia's name?   There are lots of different pronunciations among the fans.

9.  Will we get to see/hear from Thalia at any point in the next two books?

10.  If you had to pick, what which camp would you attend?  Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter?

11.  Out of all the Percy Jackson books, which one has been you favorite to write so far?

12.  Who do you prefer: Percy or Jason?

13.  How did you come up with Tyson's name?

14.  Who is you favorite god or goddess?

15.  What is your favorite monster?

16.  It is only ever stated that Leo had ADHD, but never dyslexia like other demigods.  So does Leo just have ADHD?  And it is never said weather Piper has either.  Does she?  Does the whole "demigods have ADHD and dyslexia thing" go for the Romans as well as the Greeks?

16.  Why did Percy and Annabeth have to be sent to Tartarus?  Just Why?

17.  Who is your favorite character and why?

If there are any questions you would like me to ask, please comment below and I will be sure to include them.  All the question must be in by Sunday, March 10.  If you don't want to comment you can email me at:   MounOlympusBlog@gmail.com.
